Debian and Knoppix had problems with the SCSI-Controller. Also APIC caused trouble on boot-time. I finally could get it work with Gentoo (Kernel 2.6.17* - 2.6.19-gentoo-r5) and the following kernel-parms: kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda3 noscsi noapic
